ATL nominated for hat-trick of business awards

21st January 2020

Do you love our training and the team? If you do, then we'd love you to vote for us in the fourth annual biz4Biz Awards.

Asbestos Training Limited (ATL) has been nominated for three awards in the impartial and independent awards which are sponsored by Barclays and recognise the very best Hertfordshire-based businesses.

After being put forward for the awards by our bank manager, ATL is now amongst the longlist of nominees in three categories - SME Business of the Year (-£3m), Business Services of the Year and Made in Herts. There are 14 categories in total in the 2020 awards.

Voting in the awards is open until Friday 14 February 2020 and you can vote for us in each of the three categories as listed here.

With your help, we could make the shortlist of the top 20 nominees in each of the three categories Asbestos Training Limited is shortlisted. This is when the hard work begins because we’ll then be invited to attend a judging day during March 2020.

And if we’re successful, then we’ll be invited to attend the glittering biz4Biz Awards which will be hosted by Strictly Come Dancing star and the "King of Ballroom", Anton du Beke and held at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel on Friday 15 May 2020.

Graham O’Mahony, Managing Director of ATL commented on the award nominations: “It’s a real honour to be nominated by our bank manager in the biz4Biz Awards, particularly as they recognise businesses in our home county. We’re very excited to be listed amongst other local businesses that, like us, are committed to delivering the very best service to their customers."

“We hope our clients feel the same passion for asbestos training as we do. I’d love it if they would take the time to vote for us.”

ATL has been nominated a number of times in previous awards, but this year we hope to reach the shortlist. Graham added: “It would be brilliant to go as far as possible in 2020 and possibly scoop a trophy. The level of competition is extremely high, but we believe we can do it with help from our clients!”

The Business Services Award is sponsored by George Hay Accountants and is open to Hertfordshire-based businesses like ATL that provide professional services to SMEs.

The SME Business of the Year category is open to any business that has a turnover of up to £3m. Nominated businesses must have a clear marketing and development strategy for future expansion and demonstrate exceptional financial returns, strong growth, innovation strategies, and market prominence in their sector.

Graham added: “We’re particularly delighted to be nominated in the SME Business of the Year category as we increased our marketing efforts in 2019 by launching a brand new website and bringing a dedicated PR and marketing team onboard.”

Sponsored by Stevenage Borough Council the Made in Herts Award recognises companies whose products are produced in the county. They demonstrate a passion for working-with and supporting other businesses in Hertfordshire, by sourcing locally. All ATL courses have been developed inhouse by Graham O’Mahony who is a leader in the field of asbestos. Although they originated at ATL’s head office in Fowlmere in Royston, his courses are delivered throughout the UK and worldwide.
