Managing Director Receives UKATA Outstanding Recognition Award

Graham O’Mahony Receives Prestigious Outstanding Contribution Award

Graham O’Mahony, the current Chair of UKATA and Director of ATL Safety Ltd and  Asbestos Training Ltd, was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) Excellence Awards. The prestigious ceremony, hosted by Olympic Athlete Kriss Akabusi, took place on Friday, July 7, 2023, at The Radisson Blu, East Midlands Airport Hotel.

The UKATA Excellence Awards, commemorating the association's 15-year anniversary, brought together over 100 attendees to celebrate achievements and raise funds for the Mavis Nye Foundation. The foundation focuses on providing financial assistance and supporting research efforts for mesothelioma treatment in the UK.

John McFarlane, Director of Training said “Graham has invested much time, effort and expertise in supporting, shaping and guiding UKATA to the pinnacle of the Asbestos Training Industry and this award is in recognition of all the work this entailed over the past seen years. Graham is a very modest man and would never have envisaged receiving this award, which makes it all the more special and deserving.”

In recognition of Graham O’Mahony's remarkable service and significant contributions to the association, Craig Evans, Chief Operating Officer of UKATA, presented him with the special recognition award. Craig Evans stated,
"The Outstanding Contribution Award acknowledges an individual's exceptional dedication and impact on the association and the industry. Graham's outstanding leadership during his 7-year tenure as Chair has shaped the direction and success of UKATA. His selfless commitment, expertise, and unwavering efforts have guided us through challenges, introduced innovative ideas, and spearheaded initiatives for the benefit of all members. We are honoured to pay tribute to his remarkable legacy and profound influence on the association."

The awards evening, highlighted by Kriss Akabusi's energetic presence, provided an inspiring opportunity to celebrate success with UKATA members and associates.
