Asbestos Training Limited announce our Charity Partner for 2023/2024

Asbestos Training Limited are proud to announce our Charity Partner for 2023/2024 is Mesothelioma UK

Having previously supported Help for Hero’s and the Papworth Trust, two very worthy charities, the directors concluded that the new partnership with Mesothelioma UK is a natural fit and completely in step with the business ethos. Graham O’Mahony commented “Mesothelioma UK are a dedicated charity supporting patients of Mesothelioma and importantly their families too, their work provides specialist nurses to offer care and support, offering advice and practical help along with assisting with access to clinical trials and are 100% funded by donations from the public and corporate partners and we are delighted to be supporting their mission and help to raise awareness of the dangers of this asbestos related disease.”

John McFarlane, Director of Training added “We will be looking to feature Mesothelioma UK on our training materials and signposting anyone who is affected to contact the charity. We are aiming to raise the profile of the charity which is the only national charity specifically for this asbestos related cancer, with more than 2,700 cases diagnosed annually.”

The initial fund raising activities will centre around the TUC shop in our training centre where Asbestos Training Limited provide snacks and drinks to for delegates and staff encouraging them to give a donation and all proceeds will be going to the charity. We will also be making leaflets available to those who want to learn more about the charity and the disease. There will be further fund raising initiatives as we progress into our partnership agreement.

Jacqui O’Mahony who is the Asbestos Training Director heading up the campaign said “I am very pleased to be working with Meso UK as the work they do is invaluable within the cancer treatment and support area and there is so much more that could be done in terms or research and treatment that could be achieved with more funds. I truly believe every little donation we can collect helps the charity to move forward and we are ideally positioned at Asbestos Training to help spread the word about their work and the enourmous support they offer to patients and their families and friends who are also dealing with the challenges and difficulties a Mesothelioma diagnosis brings and how to help support their loved ones. We will endeavour to raise funds and raise awareness of the charity itself”.
